Not sure what to say?

I recently came across Mr. Pellett´s obituary after I was looking through some old pictures during my time at Mead Junior High and Wichita East in the early to mid-70´s. He was also my private piano, organ, and voice teacher and I was his go-to accompanist for many solos and ensembles, along with playing for the various choirs and groups. He and the band/orchestra teacher, Bob Gleason, allowed me to rotate between concert band, orchestra, marching band, Choral Aces, and the Chamber Singers...

One of my favorite memories of Mr Pellett was when the choir (1972) was in the festival and we were being judged on our site reading. Mr Pellett was given 2 min. to look at the piece we were to sing and then it was passed out to the choir to perform. He quickly highlighted a few spots he wanted us aware of, then we sang. East got a 1 in site reading and Southeast (the supposed best choir at the time) got a 1minus. Choir was fun and I appreciated his efforts on our behalf.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Mr. Pellett's family. He was my music teacher at East High and his teachings were so impressive that I have used many of his techniques to help my own children become better singers. He was a favorite of Jennifer (Webb) Seckman and mine at East. Mrs. Pellett probably remembers the rabbit we made in art class and gave to him. Thanks Mr. Pellett, for making the world nicer through music.

My wife and I were at Mead and East and Mr. Pellet taught us in both schools. He "graduated" to East when we did. A fine teacher and Christian gentleman. We will never forget him.

My sympathies to the Pellett Family. Mr Pellett was my choir director at East High and always taught his choirs the finer points of vocal music. He made quite an impression on all of us and he will be missed. My prayers go out to the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mr Pellet was our music teacher at Mead and we loved him so much. God be with you all. Love , Sherry, Sheila and Susan LaForce

I have very fond memories from East High Concert Choir and Choral Aces.('73-76) We didn't always give him the respect he deserved but his passion for music kept him calm. As my children have participated in music I always think of Mr. Pellett. I'm thankful for our yearly production of Handel's Messiah which he must be directing in heaven.

My sympathies to the Pellett family. I took piano lessons (and a few organ lessons) from "Mr. Pellett" back in the 1950s and early 1960s. Always good memories.
