Not sure what to say?

John, I just heard about your dad & I wanted to express my sympathy to the family. I remember your dad & mom from high school, but my most recent memories are from living on Hart next door to Barb & Paul. They were great people.

Thank you to our Uncle Bob, for all you meant to our family. You and Auntie Pat were our Mom and Dad's best friends, Barbie was mine, and now you are all together again watching over all of us. From the good ole days on Sixth to the house on Hart, football games at Central, the shack at Fish Point, index cards in your shirt pocket for jobs to be done, stopping over anytime at the Duncan's back door, Potluck, duck hunting w/ my Dad and the guys, the pontoon boat, fake dog poop in the living...

One of my fondest memories of the Perkins' is walking down Hart St. and seeing Bob and Patti on the front porch swing. We chatted and they always asked about Julie and Jeanne.
Bob and Patti both are truly missed.
The Pergande Family

Dear John and Donna:
We are sorry to hear of you losing your father. He loved Fish Point and spent many, many years enjoying it there. Take care and we'll talk when we get back from Florida.

Even though we moved away from Hart Street (next door to the Perkins' house) when I was 6, I still have so many memories of Grandma and Grandpa Perkins. Even in Midland, if I needed a grandparent for a school function, Grandpa Perkins was there. It was really nice to have "grandparents" so near, and esp. nice to have a Grandpa who made really good caramel-corn (I have the special recipe even now). I am so sorry that Grandpa Perkins was so ill for so long, and I am glad that he is with...

Pops was Pops from the day I arrived at the house on Hart. Pops helped me celebrate St. Patrick's day with one of his special Manhattans within the first few months of my marriage to Robert Jr. Pops, Patti, Barbara Jean, Robert are all memories and part of who I am...the shack, the motorcycle, the Porta A Patty, the pool games, the flooded basement, the extended family/neighborhood, trips to Hess's for the holidays, the cats..my love. Patty and Bob were our neighbors on Hart St. when our children were very young.
The "Hart St. Gang" was made up of the Eckholds, the Pergandes, the Spectors, the Andersons, the Kesslers, and of course the Studers.
We all had small children who would ride up and down the street on their hot wheels. "Grandma and Grandpa Perkins" loved to watch all the young moms and dads and especially interact with the kids.
Patty and Bob acted as "surrogate" grandparents for our 3 children...

Uncle Bob was one of the kindest, funniest, and most caring men I will ever know. We was definitely a kid at heart. It didn't matter if he was teaching me to fish as a child at the "shack" with my brother, or presenting my first born with "silver spoons"- he was always there to make you smile. I will forever treasure the family cookbook he made me when I was married. It was the little things life these that made him extra special. Uncle Bob will truly be missed. To those of us who were...
