Not sure what to say?

I met Robert in Yellowknife waiting in line for a hamburger. He kept turning around to look at my T-shirt and I recognized him from his film " Into The Great Solitude". We had dinner together, talked about solo travelling and then he and his partner at the time drove my friend and I back to our campsite. I like him instantly. What a loss. I am sad. My condolences to his family and all his friends. Bob Dion.

We met regularly in recent years in London, the last time in January. He was as ever full of plans and generosity. We talked of his book, of 'Already Broken', of Claire, and of our mutual friendship with Seamus Heaney. Several of his wonderful paintings are on our walls here. My sincere condolences to family at...
