Not sure what to say?

A memory from three decades ago: There were three of us. Ross Shepard, Bob and myself. We were returning to Eugene from a legislative hearing, traveling on I-5 south of the Corvallis exit. The vehicle was a very quick limited production 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera. Bob was sitting in the "backseat," which would barely accommodate a child let alone a full grown man. With a clear highway in front of us Ross commanded, "drop the hammer." Shifting down a gear we rocketed forward. The...

I just found out about Bob's passing. My sympathies to his family and friends. He was truly one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met. While working at LCAC, he would come in with a smile and a small bag of M&M's which I would have to confiscate. That became our signature greeting - always. I will always remember him!! RIP, Bob!

I loved you. I am so blessed that you were in my life. XOXO

Word just filtered down to me in Eugene about Bob's death. What more wonderful thing to read than "He relished every moment he was on this earth"? And from what I know of Bob, I would also say that he was always thinking of others and helping others, in all his many roles throughout his long life. No coincidence that I met him through our mutual volunteer work with United Way many years ago. Bob was cheerful, generous, a lifelong scholar, and dedicated to his family. I am so honored to have...

To Peg and your entire family,
Bob and I were at opposite ends od counsel table in many criminal cases but I never had anything but respect for Bob. He was the epitome of a gentleman and lawyer. What a fascinating and accomplished life Bob lived. Bob will always be missed but remembered with love and appreciation for the life he lived.
We share the grief in your loss.

Dear Peg and family. I read about Bob´s death today while traveling in Mexico, and wanted to send blessings and love to you and all the family. What a remarkable man he was, and I feel so blessed to have called him a friend. He is part of of my memories of both sorrows and joys with the work and social events at the PD `s office. He was pastoral, caring, and fiercely committed to those less fortunate. And he led quite a life as a marine, a minister, a history professor and a lawyer. I´m...

Bob and Peg have been dear friends for 40 years. Bob married us, as well as our daughter and her husband. And he was one of the few who encouraged Carolyn to go to law school when she decided to switch careers. We will miss his intelligence, graciousness, and good humor so much. All our love and condolences to Peg and the entire Peters family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at the Public Defender's Office for the 27 years he graced us with his wit, congeniality, integrity, and kindness. We were a little wary of adding a Reverend to the office but he fit right in. He lived a long life giving of himself to others and working to make our society a better place. He clearly loved his wife and children. My condolences to Peg and the rest of the family. May the support of friends and family sustain you through this time of loss.
