Bob & Liz were our neighbors when I was a child. Family friends. & Bob was a good friend of my dad, Bill. Smith. I, Sandy Smith, babysat the 4 kids frequently. A very nice family & great neighbors. So sorry for your loss. Sandy Riccio & Patty Cox

I knew Bob when he was the Manager of the Sheet Division. He was a real people person. Periodically he held events at the Supervisor's Club for all employees which started with a brief discussion of business and thanks for a job well done, followed by a steak and lobster dinner, open bar, and camaraderie with coworkers. He was a good manager and a good person; tough but fair.

So sorry to hear of the passing of a Wonderful Man. My heartfelt condolences to Suzanne, Sharon, Lisa, and all of Robert Pheanis' Family... I am one of those many ex-employees who worked with Bob and cannot say enough good things! Prior to Mr. Pheanis coming to the Tin Division at Gary Works, I had little idea of what a good manager was.
