Not sure what to say?

As I look back,it's easiest to say Dr. Pisano was "in charge of us" when I graduated from IS34 in 1985. I remember him being very fatherly. He was kind but kept us in line. We felt glad to have him, at least I did and I remember him fondly. He was a good example. He will be missed. Rest in Peace.

Everyone has that special teacher in their life. Dr. Pisano was mine. He was such an incredible teacher, person, mentor, and will always be in my heart. I wish I could express in words what an impact he left on me. He changed my life. I'm hoping the words of love for him from myself and other former students can help with the pain of his loss. Sleep in the stars Dr. P

Dear Karen and Family, I am so saddened to read of the passing of Bob. He was truly a "mensh"! From my first day at Totten 34 in 1985 until he was transferred, he made my teaching a truly meaningful experience. Sincerely, Mel Feldstein

Doctor Pisano was the best of the best! Tottenville HS 1981 English class! I still have some of his written works that he shared. I was blessed to have known him , and for my youngest sister to experience his greatness at IS 34.
Your wisdom has guided me, your passion inspired me and teaching became my career.
Thank you for all the lives you’ve touched. My you fly on to the heavens above

Hi Karen, I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He and I both started at I.S. 27 and he was a model to all who had the opportunity to work with him. He was a colleague, and an exemplary gentleman. You and I shared many years together as colleagues as well and my sincere condolences to you and the whole family. My heart goes out to all of you. Sincerely, Bernadette Hunt

I did not know Robert personally, but about 25 years ago he reached out to us at our current address, where Robert grew up. He enclosed copies of black and white photos showing how different the house looked in the 40s. He asked us to send current photos of the house as he was preparing a memory book for his mother's birthday. Of course we did. What a kind and thoughtful man he was. My condolences to his family. He leaves a legacy of wonderful memories! Kathleen Boyer West Brighton

To the Family of Mr Pisano, How much I remember his English class. I attended IS 27 1968-1971. Not only was he my English Teacher, but also homeroom teacher. Never at a lost for words, he would tell us stories about his babies. Such a fine man, great teacher and someone we could go to if we had a problem. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Family; I came across the obituary of Mr. Pisano today, and immediately recognized the name of one of the most influential teachers I´ve ever had . . . Of course I wouldn´t have known that until years later. I had Mr. Pisano as my eight grade English teacher at IS 27 in 1973. I now know he was a visionary who encouraged logical thought and discussions and debate for all of his students. A real role model and so much for you all to be proud. He assigned our class to read The Catcher in...
