Mr. Pitt will be missed by our family. The first thing Kai told me was Mr. Pitt the one that always sang GLORY GLORY passed away.
It was wonderful to hear his voice in the mornings after I dropped my son off. I always knew God was watching over him after that! He was such a wonderful light for God.

We will surely miss his smile & singing of gospel songs every time we leave TXR. Always having TXR's childrens safety in mind. I'm sure he & his halo will still be floating around his spot there every day with his little notebook in hand waiting for the next speeder.

Words can't express how much I am going to miss Mr. Pitt. Every morning rain or shine he always had something nice to say to me. He brightened my day! He had such a wonderful spirit and was truely a good man. I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.

It's so hard to believe that you're gone. I have so many wonderful childhood memories that I associate with you and Bea. You were like a godfather to me...an extra grandfather. In a way, I like to think that I was your first grandchild. Words can't express how my heart aches for you, Bea. There is a singular profound sadness that comes when you loose your partner in this life...but a great deal of joy when you think about everything that the two of you accomplished together. I love you all and will be praying that our God gives you comfort in this time of sorrow.

Although I never met your father I have heard delightful stories about him. You are both very fortunate to have had such a great Christian man in your lives. My heart just hurts for your family at this sad time. This is such a precious family and I know your faith and love for God will get you thru this troubling time. Remember all the memories and happy times together. Seems he lived his life his way doing what he enjoyed. I know mom would always say how she would enjoy sitting in the living room at JoAnn's & Carl's and talkig with Mr. Pitt. I remember running into him at the Lebanon Flea Market and calling him Mr.Rigsby and him just smiling and going along with the conversation. You knew he was such an amazing man just by his family. He witness to the world daily. We have lost a great caring loving man and Heaven has gained another Beautiful Angel!

For many years I have seen Mr. Pitt stand at the school entrance to TXR in rain, sleet, snow, and heat with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He was so concerned for our safety and watched over us. He will be truely missed.

Coming and leaving from school will never be the same without Mr. Robert keeping us and our children safe. We loved stopping for a brief chat with him each day. We are really going to miss him. We have found ourselves looking for him this week. Heaven has gained another member of the choir. We miss you Mr. Robert!

When I was 4 years old, my family moved into the house across the street from the Pitt family and soon after that my parents divorced. I truly believe that God put my Mama and I in that house because he knew I was going to need a family and especially a father to guide and care for me. Mr. & Mrs. Pitt took me in as one of their own and I became a constant fixture in their home. All of my childhood and adult memories revolve around the Pitts. Even after they moved to the farm in Norene, I would feel my spirits lifting as I drove the hour it took to go and visit them. Robert was my buddy and he knew how much I loved animals. He would take me to see the cows and pigs (especially the babies). He would get a bucket of feed so they would come close to us, so that I could pet them, then we would go and see his garden. When I got ready to leave, he would tell me to come back soon and he would have Bebus make me some Bar-B-Q chicken, she makes the best. My heart is broken but I know that Robert is in heaven in a brand new healthy body, singing, talking and laughing with a crown gathered round. I pray for God to give Bebus and her precious family comfort and peace. I love you all, Lisa

To Uncle Roberts Family
I always looked forward to our family reunions each year. I left Tennessee 55 years ago and only wen back for vacations and family reunions and of the high lights was spending time with Uncle Robert and his family who all loved each other. He will surely be missed and the comfort is knowing I will see him again & I thank God for that. With loving memories Terry & Freida Creekmore and family.

We will miss Mr. Pitt so much, he was such a good friend to our family. In addition to his gospel music in the mornings, I will always remember him waving me across the parking lot if he spotted a "good space" close to the front door. I am so sorry for your loss and ours at Trx school. Mr Pitt was also the highlight of my morning as he was to us all at TXR. I always looked forward to hearing His beautiful voice,seeing his up lifting smile, and kind, caring, eyes every morning and afternoon. Mr. Pitt's Family
My childern and I are going to miss him very much. We will always remember him standing there every morning and afternoon singing his beautiful songs. We loved him very much. I will never forget him, he made me a CD of songs that he would sing out there. I told him he made my day. No matter how bad my morning would be just coming around that corner brightened my day. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. We will never get anyone to fill his shoes. Tuckers Crossroads will never be the same.

I always enjoyed seeing Mr. Pitt every morning I took my children to school. I knew he was watching out for our children, making sure everyone obeyed the school zone speed limit. He will surely be missed by all at Tuckers Crossroads School. The family is in my prayers.

Mr.Pitt was the face of TXR.What a wonderful soul!I'd roll my window down and hear him singing.His smile reached all the way to his eyes as he'd offer a compliment,a wave or a nod.Seeing him each morning made the day a little brighter.I was so sorry to hear the news and wish to offer my condolences.He was truely one of a kind and he'll be missed.

To the family of Robert Pitt Sr.,
Everyone enjoyed the gospel hymns he sang as he went about his duties as crossing guard at Tuckers Crossroads. The hymns reminded me of what my purpose in life was and to depend on the Lord for our strength day to day with all the hurrying to get to work on time and being prepared for teaching each day.
I want to share one act of compassion Mr. Pitt showed for me. I'm terrified of birds and on the way to work one morning I hit a bird which became lodged into the front grill of my van. You can imagine my panic but I was so thankful when Mr. Pitt removed bird for me. I didn't ask him to do it he just volunteered to my great relief. Just one of many acts of kindess he gave everyday to the people who were lucky enough to know him.
May God bless and keep you in his loving arms during your time of sorrow.

You are going to be greatly missed. I loved to hear your singing every morning when I got to work. If the day seemed to be stating off bad hearing your hyms always made it better. Thank you!!! My son will miss your goodbyes every afternoon to. Mr. Pitt made sure our children were safe each and every day. Many days after dropping my child off I would start worrying about my upcoming workday. Then he would wave me on with a smile and a song and it changed my attitude immediately. What a great blessing he has been to the TXR community - there will never be another Mr. Pitt - he will be greatly missed.

How Mr. Pitt will be missed at TXR school! He was so loved by the children as well as us parents. I often rolled down my window to hear him singing his gospel hymns as he directed traffic. He took his job seriously. Heaven forbid if he ever caught you speeding. His children's safety was the most important thing to him. I will forever remember his big smile and his positive attitude and I know that he is up there singing with the angels.

My children and I loved to hear Mr. Pitts singing hymns as he directed traffic at TXR. He was always smiling, so we called him "Our Smiley Guy." I used him as an example to my children of how they could make someone else's day better by having a positive attitude. We will truly miss him! May God bless and comfort you.

Goodbye Robert Donald. Thanks for all the good times you and Mrs. Pitt gave us growing up. There were always plenty of popcorn, rook games and bowling to go around. The memories will last forever.

I am certainly going to Miss this guy!!! Mr. Pitt was my 'constant reminder'!!! Almost daily he would holler to me "Hey, Marie~~~ Did you remember THIS TIME???!!" {referring to my 'clocking-out' for the day at Tuckers} He did not know this~~~BUT everyday when I rounded the corner to head out the door, Mr. Pitt would be there 'standing at HIS post'! "OH ~~ Darn! I forgot Again! Better 'clock-out' before He gets ME!!!" He was such a 'cut-up' and I am gonna miss that, too!! I am thankful that he is 'etched' into My Memory! I am also truly thankful to YOUR Family for Sharing Mr. Pitt with US!!!
