Robert J. Plaisted, 80, of 14 Wybern Lane died at his home on Wednesday, February 09, 2005, after a period of failing health.
Mr. Plaisted was born in York, Maine on December 31, 1924, the son of Harry and Amanda (Pinneau) Plaisted and had been living in Rochester since 1980, moving from Dover, NH. Prior to his retirement he worked as a landscaper. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy (Freeman) Plaisted, by a son Robert Plaisted, Jr. and by a daughter, Judy Plaisted. Robert enjoyed collecting antiques, loved rebuilding and refinishing furniture, landscaping and playing cribbage.
Surviving members of the family include: five sons, Richard Plaisted and his wife Edwina of Rochester, Wayne Plaisted oof Milton, NH, Edward Plaisted and his wife Rita of Milton, NH, Cecil Plaisted of Rochester and Michael Plaisted of Milton, NH, five daughters, Elizabeth MacDonald of Rochester, Linda Hendickson and her husband Edward of Barrington, NH, Roberta Mickelonis and her husband Patrick of Milton, NH, Dorothy Horne and her husband Harold of Durham, NH and Karen Leighton of Sanford, Maine. He also leaves 1 sister, Martha Gregoire of Rochester and a total of 108 grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, NH on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home, followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, NH.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, alms may be sent to Richard Plaisted, 109 England Road, Rochester, NH, 03867 to assist the family.
