Pat, Diane, and Bobby, your father was a great friend to me while he ran the Downtowner, and later. I worked for him at the Downtowner from Sept 1963 through June 1964, and we remained friends as long as I lived in the area. We went to car races together, Darlington, Weaverville, Greenville-Pickens, and I saw him as an older brother. He was a great guy: my wife and I loved both of your parents and still have wedding gifts they gave us in 1967. He was a rare good-guy boss. Dr. David H. Roberts, Athens, GA

Pat, Diane and Bobby. My heart aches for your loss. There is no doubt about it, your dad made life happier for those he was with. I always called him "Bill's best medicine". I know the large treasure trove of rich memories you all have will bring you peace and comfort.

Pat, Diane, and Bobby, You all have lost your Dad, and I my wingman in life. It will not be easy for all of us, but keep laughing about the memories, even amid the tears. He was one wonderful guy, and brought so much fun and joy to so many.

I got to meet Bob through his racing buddy, Bob R., many years ago. I always looked forward to seeing them at the track in Daytona. We sat with Bob and Bob at the Living Legends of Auto Racing Banquet last February and planned on doing so again this coming February. He may not be there in body, but know that he is there in spirit. My deepest condolences to his family and all of his friends. God bless.

Prayers for the family. I know God is comforting you during this difficult time. I was a RHHS 1956 classmate and was so glad to see him at one of our reunions. I did not recognice him with his white beard and hair...but his voice and laughter gave him away!

Bob was a great friend from as long as I can remember. He lived with me off and on for years. Never forget him calling me and THE WHITE HOUSE @ 4 AM to announce the Birth of his SON. BOB was all that a Man can ever wish to be.

Pat, please accept my sympathies for the passing of your father. As I read about his full life, I am reminded of the phrase - Well done my son, well done. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Everyone at The Greenville News passes along their thoughts also.

Pat, Diane and Bobby, thinking of you all with love, I have good memories of both your mom and dad, especially how nice they always were to me and my family when we were neighbors! Seeing him and my dad talking over the fence and watching them both laugh was great! We are truly blessed that God picked the best dads for us! I know it will be a tough time for all of you but please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!! Much love and hugs all around!!

We can think of no greater person that Bob Plexico! We have so many fond memories of him and we recite his "expressions/'sayings'" so often. He made many trips to visit us as we cruised the east coast on our trawler and we have photos and vivid memories of our delightful times together.
