Robert H. Poel

I never saw a man that could work as hard as Bob and enjoyed it. He loved being outdoors in any weather. His spirit is now free.

The science teachers of the entire area stood on the shoulders of this giant. Thanks Bob. For everything.

I have many good memories of teaching with Bob at Western. He was a thoughtful teacher and I enjoyed his company.

We shared a lifetime of college teaching at WMU with Bob arriving one year after I did. He was a fine teacher, a valued colleague and a friend during some tumultuous times in the College of General Studies and beyond. To a grieving family know that he had a positive impact on those he taught and those who worked with him. I know that I shall miss him very much.

I had Dr. Poel for a science class in the fall semester of 1971, my sophomore year at WMU. I have good memories of that class, even these 54 years later. Dr. Poel was a very fine professor, knowledgeable and well-prepared. Sympathy to the family.

Im so sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to his friends and family. May you find comfort in your memories. Thinking of you all and wishing you all peace in this difficult time.
