Robert E. Pollock, Sr.

Mr. Robert Edward “Bob” Pollock, Sr., age 83, a resident of Washington, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

No services will be held.

Mr. Pollock, known as “The Pecan Man” by his friends and neighbors, was born in Glen Cove, N.Y. on March 12, 1940.  He was the son of the late Alexander Paul Pollock and Dorothy Louise Johnson Pollock.  Mr. Pollock was a retired fuel truck driver with over 50 years of service. He lived in Port Washington, N.Y. until he moved to Washington 18 years ago.  Mr. Pollock loved sports and was a “doting grandfather” who attended all his grandchildren’s games.

On October 11, 1964, Mr. Pollock married the former Antionette Intintoli, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Pollock is survived by his son, Robert E. Pollock Jr. and wife, Gillian of Washington; daughter, Debra Anne Pollock of the home; two grandchildren, Robert E. Pollock III, Katherine E. Pollock both of Washington; and brother, William Pollock and wife, Mary of Florida.

Mr. Pollock was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Dorothy Pollock and two sisters, Donna Pollock and Carol Pollock-Brignati.
