Not sure what to say?

It is now 2016 and I just became aware of Doctor Pontone's passing. I, my father, and my mother were all given top notch service by this very kind and knowle dgeable man. He once told my father, perhaps 30 years ago, "Bill, you may very well live to be a hundred." His prediction has almost come true. My father is now 97 1/2. I would like Mrs. Pontone and the Doctor's entire family to know that he was a very important person in our lives during the many years that we lived in Teaneck. ...

Heard about Dr.Pontone's passing from my cousin Bonnie Lowry Turnamian, and, like her, the news takes me back to those memorable days of my childhood and the closeness of neighbors on Carlton Terrace and Queen Ann Road in Teaneck. What good times we had then. Dr. Pontone was our doctor and friend, and the entire Pontone family were friends too and meant a lot to everyone in my household, the Gurbachs and Kenneys. Sending all of you love and sympathy.

To the Pontone Family -- Just recently heard of Dr. Pontone's passing. I couldn't stop thinking of the old days in Teaneck growing up. What wonderful memories of great families and friendships. I will always remember Dad's kind words to me when I lost my first baby in July 1969. He truly comforted me during a tough time. Also, treating me for a broken nose as a youngster. Our families were so fortunate to have those memories. You all meant so much to all the Lowry's. God Bless him on his...

I just heard the news about Dr Pontone. He treated me for Rheumatic fever when I was 9 years old in 1955. I used to look forward to his weekly visits to my house. (I even had him rooting for the Brooklyn Dodgers.)

He was a very kind and terific person in addition to being a great Doctor who cared very much for his patients.

Please accept my deepest sympathy with his passing. He will be missed.

Dad and I have fond memories of working many years with Dr. Pontone at Holy Name... No, they don't make them like him anymore. A true gentleman and so kind to all.. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all whose lives he touched- he will truly be missed . May you find peace in knowing he lived a full and good life and is now watching over yours...Kathleen Brennan Rn and Dr. Dermot O'Herlihy

Dr. Pontone was the family doctor for three generations of the Del Guidice family. He was my doctor from the time I was seven years old till he stopped his practice in 1999, a total of over 40 years. It's not often that you look forward top going to the doctor, but I did - I enjoyed his humor and wit and paid close attention to his advice, he was a very unique individual. On behalf of the Del Guidice family I would like to add my condolences to the Pontone family, his loss is a great one -...

I am so sorry to read this! I was a nurse in Holy Name for many years and Dr Pontone was such a lovely gentleman! I remember him playing his harmonica for us on many occasions. More importantly, he was very kind to his patients and respectful of the nurses! I offer my sincere sympathy to his family, God bless, and may he rest in peace.
