As a member of the East Grand Rapids class of 1957, I had the wonderful opportunity of being taught and coached by Bob Porter. He was a terrific coach and mentor. I have thought of him often through the many years and have appreciated reconnecting with him these final months of his life. I will miss him a great deal.

Although I met Bob Sr. in his latter years, we quickly developed a connection and friendship as I sensed his true love and compassion for family and pride of fatherhood.
