Not sure what to say?

Robert was customer. I knew that was an exceptional man. I was invoicing his company today and found out about his passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. Myron Trowbridge Dictation Equipment Company

I consider myself quite fortunate to have been one of those once young professionals who benefited from Robert's mentorship. He and Irene welcomed me to Florence with open arms when I married Beth Fraser, never letting this international graduate student feel foreign in their company. He was there for me when I was appointed Dean in my early 30s, to advise me in good and not-so-good times, to guide me during career transitions, and to join our family in celebrating my appointment as...

Dearest Irene I was saddened to read about your beloved Bob passing. I have fond memories of his and yours too kindness to me when I cleaned your beautiful home. You are in my prayers. Blessings Cindy Highley

He was a wonderful teacher and lawyer. So civic minded. What a loss.

Irene, Julia Anna & Les, your husband, and father was a remarkable leader who made a significant contribution wherever he served. Robert´s parents and mine were good friends since 1946 when my dad served as the pastor of the Florence Adventist church and when I was born. Even though I only met Robert his senior year at Southern Adventist University and a second time at his 50th college reunion I always tracked his career as a successful administrator. I attended Newbold College in England...

Working with Robert during the time he was Chancellor of the NDUS and I was President of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education was both a privilege and a pleasure. He was a leader of great integrity and enthusiasm, always displaying an unbiased commitment to the partnership shared with students, staff, institutions, and the ND Legislature. My thoughts are with family, and with the many friends for whom he was an inspiration and a mentor. He will be missed, and remembered.

I wish to share my deepest condolences with rene and Robert's family for their loss. He was truly a gentleman--kind, gracious, and selfless. He made lasting and positive impressions on me and so many others. I liked and admired Robert as a chancellor, role model, and leader in higher education. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to work with him and for him. David Fuller, former president of Minot State University and Dakota College at Bottineau.

Dear Irene and family, My heart goes out to each of you with the loss of Robert. I still have many fond memories of the time we spent with you both when we all lived in Tuscaloosa years ago. Thinking of you with much love, Mary (Davis) Bashinsky
