Robert James Provini

Robert James Provini, 81, of Gillette, died at his home on Thursday, August 25, 2022.  The Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Rossi Funeral Home, Scotch Plains, from 6-9pm.  The Funeral will be on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains.  The Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.   Donations and contributions can be made in Robert’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
 
Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Maplewood, NJ.  After marrying his love Millie, they started their family in Maplewood and then settled to Gillette in 1979.  For over 30yrs, Robert was a Gas Fitter Technician for PSE&G before retiring in 2001.  He as a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 1262.  Robert proudly served his Country in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1963.  

 
Robert was an avid NY Mets fan and a Frank Sinatra fan.  He loved to gamble, especially at games like craps, and he enjoyed betting on sporting events, mostly on football.  
 
Robert is predeceased by his wife Mildred “Millie” in 2012.  He is survived by his two sons James (Dianne), and Thomas (Maria); his four grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Gabriella, and Sergio; his brother Albert (Maureen); his sister Carol Ann; and his nieces and nephews.
