Robert Wallace Pullen
1928-2017
Robert Wallace Pullen passed away on Tuesday night, January 24th, 2017 after a brief illness. Affectionately known as "Pop" or "Foxer" he was loved by his family and friends. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 16, 1928, the only child of the late Homa Lee Pullen and Corinne Pinson Pullen. He graduated from Central High School and the University of Oklahoma where he joined Phi Delta Theta. He served in the US Air Force before working in Memphis, TN and Dallas, TX. He moved to Houston in 1958 where he began a long and successful career in Commercial Real Estate, first with the Paul E Wise Co, Inc. and then in 1983, founded his own company, The Robert W. Pullen Co., Inc. He loved traveling, fishing, hunting, tennis, skiing and in his 80s took up snowshoeing. When his children and grandchildren were performing in the field or on the stage, he was always on the sidelines cheering them on. He was devoted to family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne, his daughter Elizabeth Pullen Schwing, her husband, Ned, their children Ford, Abby and Annie; his sons, Robert W Pullen, Jr., his wife, Jill, children Robby, Will and Alex; Wesley R. Pullen, daughter Alyssa, son Ben, his wife, Robin, and, children, Grayson, Lily and Isley; and Corey Pullen, his wife, Sherri, children Emily and Paul. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Bradshaw-Carter, 1734 W. Alabama from 5-7pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Bagby Parish Hall. Donations may be to made to St. Martin's Episcopal, 717 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056 or a charity of your choice.
