Robert H. Purtle
Robert H. Purtle died February 17, 2017, in Carrollton, Texas. Robert was born July 10,1924, in New Boston, Texas to Harold and Mollie Fay Purtle, and was a long time resident of Texarkana, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Roberta Natalie Purtle. Robert was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Texas National Guard. He enjoyed a long career at Red River Army Depot. He was a founding member of the Wake Village Masonic Lodge, a Baptist deacon, Sunday school teacher and church bus driver.
He is survived by a brother Samuel Purtle of McKinney, Texas; two daughters Karen Bennett (Larry Bennett) of Carrollton, Texas; Sandy Luker (Mike Luker) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; grandchildren Mike Luker (Amber Luker), Jeff Luker, Jeni Luker, Kyle Bennett and Ashley Bennett; two great granddaughters, Penny and Olivia Luker.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Texarkana Funeral Home, 3515 Texas Blvd., Texarkana, Texas, with Rev. David Martin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery.
