Not sure what to say?

Doug, as I knew him in the 70's and 80's, was an inspiration to me in my road running. Always offering good advice and tips he improved my athletic abilities and kept me from injuries. I remember him running with me in my first marathon in Detroit in 1979. Always soft-spoken and with helpful manners, he is remembered fondly. My condolences to the family and God's blessings.

My sympathy and condolences to Doug's family. We first met while I was a student/athlete at Jackson Community College in 1975-77, where our track and field teams had some great successes. Thanks for your steadying influence, Doug, and may you rest in peace.

My sympathies to Theresa and the family. Doug was a joy his encouraging nature to all. God bless. Jeanie Tannis

Sending condolences to the family. Doug was a long-time colleague at Jackson College working with students who needed his help in improving their reading skills.

May the Almighty surround you and the family with His Shalom during this time. May his memory continue to be for a blessing

Saddened to hear of Doug's passing. He was a wonderful person with a special partner and tamily. I enjoyed working with Doug for 8 years at JCC. Condolences to the family. Wilson Bowers

I am sorry to hear of Doug´s passing. He did live a full life, working and mentoring young students. I was one of them. Being a young football coach at Parkside, in the late 60´s and into the 70´s, there I found Doug supporting me, giving of himself, as he mentored me with his calm confident demeanor. He was a major addition to the Parkside HS football coaching staff. Lovingly, John Raut
