Dr. Robert Andrew Rainer Jr., 78, of McDonough, Georgia, a U.S. Army veteran, a part time instructor in the dental school in Emory University before his retirement in 1992, died on Friday, October 12, 2001. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 13, 2001, 7-9 p.m., at Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors, 2580 Highway 42 North, McDonough. Graveside services are scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 4 p.m., at McDonough City Cemetery, officiated by Dr. C.R. Hill Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to a charity of the donor's choosing. Arrangements entrusted to Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough, Georgia.
Dr. Rainer will always be remembered as a well respected and trusting man and an outstanding dentist that gave to the community.

Last Thursday as I sat in the dentists chair, Dr. Foster and I discussed your Dad...how much he'd done for the community and what a great dentist he was. Somehow, Doc performed painless dentistry; maybe part of that was the relaxed atmosphere in his office, the soothing music and his gentleness.
He had a great personality too and to the best of my knowledge....'all who knew him, loved him'.
