I knew Bobby Rankin as a teenager when I worked at the Amoco Gas Station @ Teall Ave and Erie Blvd. He always had some good information to share and I thought a great police officer. It was on occasions after high school and military I would see Bobby. Always a great meeting. I share your loss.

Sunset Over Little Watch Island

Your father, and mother, have been sorely missed these past few years - No. 9 Island hasn't been the same. We are so sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

I always enjoyed Bob's friendship, as a fellow member of the Syracuse Model Railroad Club. As much as I pretended to be put out by his teasing, I'll admit appreciating his concern when he would get on my case about driving a car "not built in this millennium!" I will think of him, when I finally do get a 21st-century car.

It is a very sad day on Birch Island. Bob was caretaker here for many years - a good friend to all of us, particularly to my parents, Rem & Millie Nichols. Our deepest sympathies to his family. Rest easy now Robert.....Kathy Halsey and Alan Cooper

Our condolences go out to the family.
