"Bob" Rawls
1935-2012
Robert Alvin "Bob" Rawls, age 76, of Milton, FL, went to be with his Lord Tuesday August 28 2012. He was born October 22, 1935 in Tampa, FL, to the late Robert Alexander Rawls and Josie Elvira Dryden Rawls.
Bob loved to fish, eat oysters and working on his 1950 Chevy Truck. He had worked as a door greeter at Walmart in Pace and was the guy that truly made you smile when entering the store. He loved his church family at the First Apostolic Church of Milton where he was a member and loved his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Michael Rawls; a brother, Norman Rawls; and a sister, LaDora Elliott.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara Rawls; five sons, Robert A. (Shirley) Rawls of Panama City, FL, Edwin Emmett (Barbara) Rawls of Yulee, FL, Keith Paul (Linda) Rawls of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Steven Joseph Rawls of Old Town, FL and Dale (Michelle) Shore of Pace, FL; three daughters, Wendy Ann (Kurt) Hencke of Newport Richey, FL, Melba (Adam) Chestang of Mobile, AL and Michele (Byron) Matherne of Milton, FL; 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ann (Jim) Klug of Naples, FL and many friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be Friday August 31, 2012 at 11 AM at the First Apostolic Church of Milton with Pastor Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday August 30 from 6 until 8 PM.
National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

I was there almost 12 years ago when you entered our family, not really sure of this man who was marrying my sister, but I can say with all my heart you where the best thing that has ever happened to us and her as a family, you made her smile when there was no smiles, you brought her laughter and love, you made my mother so happy to know you were bringing joy to her daughter whom needed it so much. I guess I am writing this to you Bob as much as the family, but I am so thankful you were a part of my family these last 12 years, thanks for being there to help me when I needed a shoulder to cry on, thanks for bringing my sister to me everytime I called with a crisis. We all must move on from this world sooner or later but the memories of those loved ones will remain with us forever. Saying farewell to loved ones is painful and sadness fills our heart as we reflect on precious memories with them. However, the joy and the peace God provides us as Believers is a blessing.
