Curran-Jones Funeral Home - West Springfield Obituary

Feeding Hills – Robert W. Romansky Jr., 65, died peacefully on April 7, 2022, in Noble Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends.  Bobby was born and grew up in Springfield the son of the late Robert and Barbara (Howard) Romansky.  He graduated from Classical High School and Western New England University.

Bobby and Lynne Bannick met at Scrimshaw’s because they both loved live music and the late Kenny the Whale Fortier was the DJ. They traveled to other music venues and enjoyed each other’s company. They married in 1987 at St. Barnabas & All Saints Episcopalian Church in Springfield. Bobby worked for Lynne’s father, Paul’s exterminating company for several years and Paul helped Bobby launch his successful business, R & R Tax Services in West Springfield.

Bobby had a passion for all types of music, movies, and people his whole life.  He provided unqualified support to friends and strangers, encouraging them to follow their dreams just as he had done to start a life with Lynne, help take care of his mother, and run a successful business.

Bobby loved creating cassettes and CDs in order to capture the variety of music he liked. He had a gift for memorizing lines of the movies he watched again and again. Some of his favorite movies were all of the iterations of Despicable Me and Monty Python; he loved anything created by Mel Brooks.  Bobby had an encyclopedic knowledge of the world’s interesting facts and he enthusiastically shared them.

Bobby was a talented bowler in the Chicopee Bowling League. If you couldn’t find Bobby you knew to search for him at casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun and more recently Springfield’s MGM.  Bobby was a big football fan and was thankful this year for his favorite Rams’ second Super Bowl victory.

He leaves his wife Lynne (Bannick) Romansky and his sister Jeanne M. Romansky.  Visiting hours will start at 4 pm at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street and conclude with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 pm.  Burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery will be private.  For more details and online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Humane Society at www.spfldhumane.org/donate with his family’s thanks.

So sorry for your loss. May your memories always bring a smile or chuckle to your heart when you think of him. Bob always made me laugh, and shake my head with a smile when he'd tell a story, quote a line in a movie, or just being 'Bob'. When my daughter was little she was little would call him "Bob The Builder". She loved it when he came over. She would run up to him climb all over him and mess up his hair. I'd try to stop her, but he just laughed and said "Awe, she's fine, let her...
