Robert H. Romer

Bob and I shared many interesting and happy times together as part of Five College Learning in Retirement. I treasure the friendship we had in this later part of our lives. I didn't expect to make such a good friend in retirement.

I am heartbroken to read of Bob's passing, he was one of my favorite people at the UUSA where we were on various committees together over the years. He and Betty also attended the same gym I did and we regularly passed the lobby, chuckling about one thing or another. He was one of the kindest, funniest, most quietly brilliant people I've ever known. We have been overseas and therefore have missed seeing him at the Arbors, and I'm sad to miss the memorial service but I wish his dear family...

I met Dr. Romer through Hope Church. His passion and empathy breathed life into his accounts of slavery in our area. A life well-lived, indeed.
