Not sure what to say?

my condolences, tough in horseshoes, loved talkin with him.my old pal

He use to stop into our Family restaurants. He had a way with words, many times he spoke with words I had never heard before.kept my dictionary handy. He was a genius, kind and mostly he loved his wife Grace.I would have loved to read his poetry and the books he wrote later in his life. RIP Bob ,You are home at last with Grace.

We send our thoughts and sympathies to Bob's family. He and Grace were great neighbors and a joy to visit with. We were honored to have Bob's books at the Historical Society.

Dear Family. Leo and I were neighbors for 28 years with Grace and Bob. We would see him very early either fishing for Walleye or riding his bike and in later years walking with a garbage bag to pick up the trash. In the summer, there were many times he dropped off something from his garden (and what a Garden it was!) He was a firm believer of eating from the garden.
He helped us transplant some of the biggest Raspberries from his garden. We always looked forward to the homemade plum...

Robert what a great friend to have. He often had a story to tell about one of his life's experiences. My visits with him were always beneficial Giving me an insight on human nature. And of course going home with one of his jars of homemade pickles made it all the better. Lunch time without you will never be the same.

Here is a photo of your dad with some of his friends from the center.

Deepest sympathies to the Roop family. Mr. Roop (as I liked to call him) was a dear friend to me and to many who came to know him at the senior center he attended in the last year or two of his life. He would volunteer at the school and come over next door to us for lunch. He would sing the blessing before lunch and serenade us with many lovely songs often. He started a reading/poetry group at the senior center where he met several like minded folk who had the same passion for literature....

Bob and I send our heartfelt sympathies to all the Roop family
