Aurora Borealis danced across the Alaskan night sky as I studied my Bible during my early twenties. I sat reading passages about a loving Father, something which seemed natural to me. So natural that at times, the words seemed more like letters from home rather than scripture. My dad had tried to model the things a father should be and he had come as close to perfect as any human could. Dad was hard working, gentle, kind, faithful, strong, patientvirtues we all as men should aspire to.

my favorite memory of my grandpa is when we were lucky enough to go on a helicopter ride in Kauii, Hawaii in 2007. his hair was everywhere, and grandma couldn't stop talking about how beautiful everything was. I kept looking at him and he just had a quiet smile on his face. just recently my dad said "your grandpa was so scared". I would have never known it. love you grandpa, hope you know how special you are to me.
