Not sure what to say?

Sheila and family I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Kathy Hanrahan

Rudy was a model friend since 1944 when
we both entered the University of Chicago. For most of the past thirty
years, I particularly looked forward
to celebrating our mutual May birthdays
at some fine Chicago restaurant selected by Rudy. I am very grateful
to have known him.

Bob--Rudy, as we called him at the U of Chicago where I met him in 1948 when I moved into the Ellis Avenue Rudolph house-- was my model of gentle strength, loyalty and abiding affection. Besides, he introduced me to Schubert, a lifelong passion we shared. With our wives we had memorable trips together in England and Italy and great vacations in Cape Cod. I loved him and miss him.

I am a second generation Rudy fan! Rudy and my Dad (Joseph Norbury) were life long friends from college -- so for my entire life, Rudy has been a constant. I am comforted that now my father will be joined by such a dear friend in music heaven!! I send my most sincere condolences to the friends and family Rudy's left behind. Hugs to you Sheila! With all my love--

I shall always treasure the memory of Rudy's friendship
- Marthe Norbury (Washington, DC)

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

This great obituary of Bob certainly captures the essence of his life. I cherish my memories of Bob, not only as a model husband and father, but also a model friend. I shall miss you, dear friend. My best love and sincere sympathy to Sheila and all the family.
