Robert John Ruff

RUFF, Robert John - Grand Blanc, age 67, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at his son's home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM Monday, November 29, 2004 at St. Dominic Savio Chapel, 7095 Kochville Road, Freeland, Michigan, Father Daniel Ahearn officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Dominic Savio Chapel Building Fund, PO BOX 5302 Saginaw, MI 48603. Visitation 5-8PM Saturday and 3-8PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Ruff will be at the church from 10:00AM Monday until the time of the Mass. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 10, 1936. He and his family moved to the Grand Blanc area in 1973. He married Georgette Noory on September 13, 1958 in Detroit. Robert was self-employed as a licensed builder and excelled in finished carpentry. He was well known for his work. Surviving are wife Georgette; son, Jeffrey and wife Catherine Ruff of Grand Blanc; daughters, Denise and husband Paul Gage of Grand Rapids and Michelle Ruff of Agoura Hills, California; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jimmy, David, Nicholas, Rachel, Nathan, Sarah and Lauren; sister, Patricia and husband Robert Valente of Novi, Michigan; brothers, John and wife Suzanne Ruff of Williamsburg, Virginia, Peter and wife Dodi Ruff of Bremerton, Washington, Bernard and wife Michelle Ruff of Tacoma, Washington, Richard and wife Mary Ruff of Ferndale, Michigan; also many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by father, Peter Ruff and mother, Agnes Ruff.
