Dr. Salter made it possible for me to become a nurse. Not only a nurse but charge nurse in the emergency room. I tried to thank him but of course he said he had nothing to do with my success. He would never take any credit. I know there must be thousands of success stories out there. I still think of him so often and its been years since he left us. I guess it shows that he never left but lives in the hearts and mind of all he helped. I can still hear his voice. Always encouraging always...

Dr Salter wasn't only my doctor for 24 years, he was a very large part of our family. My deepest condolences for your loss, but I hope it gives you comfort knowing that Dr Salter will never be forgotten. There aren't words to describe what this wonderful man meant to me and my family. Not only did he give me the ability to walk when without him I would have been in a wheelchair, but he gave me the courage and confidence to hold my head high and he always encouraged me to be my best. Even...

My deepest condolences from R Massey and family. Your father and mine were friend while they lived in Schomberg Ont. Dr. Salter assisted me in locating a specialized doctor for my back. He was a good man and as a little kid, I enjoyed going to his farm with my dad. Thank you Dr Salter

My parents took me to see Dr Salter when I was 2 or 3 (1956-57) years old. They had been told by several other doctors that since I was diagnosed with CP I would probably never be self-sufficient; I would end up blind, deaf, & most surely be developmentally disabled. Most drs. suggested my parents place me in an institution, but not Dr Salter!
I had several orthopedic surgeries between the ages of 9-13, and Dr Salter always said he was amazed at how fast I healed up. Maybe weird to...

I first came to know you over 40 years ago, my parents brought me to Toronto when I was only 3; they were seeking a second opinion with respect to my condition. For the following 40 plus years I continued to seek your opinion.
During my visits at the O&A hospital, every morning without a doubt you would stroll in around 7am and with a very friendly and determined voice by calling my name and say good morning, and if I didn’t respond you would continue until I at least gave you a...
