Dear Schaefer Childen,

I just learned of your father's death last night as I was sitting on the back deck. Yes, you all remember the famous back deck overlooking the Fish Creek Harbor. Many an evening was shared with Emil and our neighbor Bob. Your dad loved that view so much he recorded it in order to watch it during the winter.
His legal ability was unsurpassed as well as his wit, as long as you were not on the wrong end of it.

Steve and all-I was sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I will never forget sailing with everyone in high school and how cool the back birth was. I also remember him with all the guys, my dad, George B, your dad and others talk about the love of sailing and planning their next trip over a couple cocktails.

I hope you find the peace of his passing and can think of the good times he shared with his family and friends.
