Not sure what to say?

I have only just now seen the notice of Bob's passing. What a man he was... a real teacher and an inspiration to me. I have missed him...and will forever. My hugs to Steven! Greetings from China!

Reverend Shably was a guiding light for my mother and myself, during some of our most difficult times.
On a broader note, he made the most remarkable impact on all of us in Houston, beyond the ministry of the Church. His kindness and compassion were unmatched.
I miss him tremendously.

I was so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was such a gentle soul! I enjoyed swapping recipes, walking through his garden and talking with him. As nextdoor neighbors, he watched my kids grow up. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. I feel truly honored to have known this lovely man. Steven, I am so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Donna

Bob radiated love. I'll miss his infectious smile, wisdom and humor. He spoke at my daughter's funeral despite it being difficult to speak, a generosity I will never forget. Much love to Steven and family.

I grew to know Bob personally in the 80s when I volunteered in the First UU church office in Houston while between jobs (I'm a geologist, and it was lean times for us then). After that, he and I would occasionally meet for enjoyable lunches the conversations were wide-ranging and wonderfully interesting. Then much later when I was diagnosed with...

We will miss Bob. He was a kind and cheerful man. We were lucky to have him as our neighbor. Paul and Margaret Wittig

Bob brightened our downtown fitness class and tackled the exercise routines even as he was burdened by health problems. We first talked during one of the "first Monday" gatherings at a coffee shop, after class. I will miss him.

Bob was in the fullest sense of the word a human being,
He shared his heart, humor, wisdom and love openly and freely
He also gave the best hugs I've ever known. Though he lives in my heart, he is missed!

A warm and wonderful classmate to all
