Robert Albert Schardt

I first met Bob in 1975 when I became a Merck employee in Information Services in Rahway NJ. We soon developed a long lasting friendship. We both loved fishing! I fished with Bob on his boat many memorable times, both in Raritan Bay and the beautiful waters around Montauk NY. Bob taught me how to build fishing rods from scratch, a skill that I will always have. Bob was a perfectionist with that skill and those who owned a RAS rod we´re proud to have one. Bob was a quiet, always smiling, good natured neighbor of mine for many years, He would occasionally bring me fresh fish which he had caught here off the coast of Montauk. We played football together here on Staten Island back in the 50s/60s and I would usually find a gaping hole to run through created by his offensive line blocking, Our sincere condolences to Margaret and the family.
