BIG RAPIDS -- Longtime area dentist Dr. Robert R. Scharp, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Ypsilanti, the son of Robert and Doris (Townsley) Scharp.

Sue and family, Mark and I are truly sorry for your loss of Bob. He was one of a kind and will be so missed. One thing was for certain he loved you with all his heart Sue. You are in our thoughts during this sad time.

My heartfelt sympathy is extended to you, Susie, and to all who knew and worked with or who were treated by Robert. His family, and especially you, will never stop missing him. R.I.P. Bob. I say Bob, as that is what he went by in high School. I remember him as one of only a handful of genuinely friendly class mates that always had a smile for you. I never knew that his birthday was exactly 2 days after mine of the same year and that he moved to Belleville in 1950. (I moved there with my parents in 1953.) Prayers for you and your entire family and all of your friends Bob and may you look back knowing you made this place on earth a better place to live with all...
