Not sure what to say?

Wonderful, helpful Captain to fly with. My first month as a new F/O on Braniff's BAC-111 was with a very un helpful Captain, whose name will remain off my record. But, What a difference my second month would be with Bob as a very helpful, understanding mentor. Instead of being stressed, the month was a very pleasant and total opposite from month one, and kind of set the tone for the rest of my 16 year Braniff career. I will never forget that great month getting to know Bob and learning from...

I'm so sad now. I had no idea he had passed. Mr. Schmeltz was our patient for many years and always such a sweet, gentle and charming man. He was one of my favorites and we all loved him. I will always miss him and Joanie coming in together for his appointments. Deepest heartfelt condolences to Joanie and the family for your loss. How lucky you were to have such a guy as him in your life. Bobbi, Dr. Rinkenberger and staff.

What a lovely family!

Thinking about the entire Schmeltz family. May you find peace and comfort.

What a terrific gentleman, he tried unsuccessfully to teach how to ski-I'm a klutz, and he was so patient!

I have the most wonderful memories of childhood visits and sleepovers at the Schmeltz household. These are the memories I reflect on now. Your dad was the kindest, sweetest man. My parents loved their friendship with this family. My heartfelt sympathies to all in the loss of your father, grandfather and husband. I'm keeping you close in thought and prayers. Nancy Scharno Paulus

My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Schmeltz family. May God comfort you especially during this most difficult time.

I met Bob after I was hired in 1968. He was a fine gentleman and a great pilot. Loved flying with him and talking with him in the crew room.

Bob is a classic example of a 1st class human being. This world is a much poorer place without him.
