Obituary

Robert L. 'Bob' Schneider, 74, died March 24, 2008 after spending an extraordinary week with the Schneider 'Clan' in the Florida Keys. Bob was born June 18, 1933 in Coleraine, Minn. He proudly served in the Korean War from 1950-1952. In 1956, he received a B.S.B.A in Industrial Mgmt. from the University of North Dakota. He had an interesting and adventurous career working for numerous mining companies as chief industrial engineer, project engineer, and project manager. His career began in Gary, Ind., with U.S. Steel and continued to Hibbing, Minn., in 1962 where he met and married Virginia 'Ginny' Ahachich. After their marriage they relocated to Duluth, where their son Michael was born. During the next 14 years Bob was employed in Peru, SA and throughout the U.S. In 1978, they moved to Albuquerque, N.M. where their daughter Mary LaRue was born. The last part of his career he was employed throughout the U.S. and Guadalajara, Mexico. Bob was an extremely loyal individual who always put his family and friends first. He loved working and spending quality time at his cabin in Northern Minnesota. He was a man of few words, but his comforting presence will be greatly missed. Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Lloyd and Zenia Schneider and sister-in-law Anne Schneider. Bob is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughter, Mary LaRue (Nathan) and Liliana Marie Varley of Albuquerque; son, Michael (Peggy) and Blayze Schneider of Los Angeles; brother Bill Schneider of Coleraine; numerous nieces and nephews, along with other family members. MASS:was held in Albuquerque, N.M., on April 3. An additional remembrance ceremony will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
