Schnetzler, Robert Leon Saginaw, MI Loving husband, devoted father and grandfather was called home to the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the age of 77. Robert was born June 17, 1936, in Saginaw to the late Leon and Marguerite (Moore) Schnetzler. He married the love of his life Anne Forrest on July 13, 1985. She survives him. He worked for Kroger Food Store, and then went on to General Motors, where he retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, NASCAR, and M.S.U. Spartans. He enjoyed playing hockey, creating things with wood, and attending Hopevale Church. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife Anne he will be missed by his children, Bob (Bonnie) Schnetzler, Tom (Robyn) Schnetzler, Ann Marie Schnetzler, Kellie Lydic, Tim (Patty) Northrup, and Kip (Nicole) Northrup; grandchildren, Caroline, Cole, Sarah, Trevor, Erik, Katie, Ashley, Joseph, Emily, Casey, Austin, Riley, Emma, Mollie, Charlotte; great-grandson, Spencer; sister, Mary Jane Gustin; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Tim and Robin Dubay. He was predeceased by his sister Judy (Howard) Simon; and brothers-in-law, Bob Gustin and Duncan MacFarlane; and son-in-law, Mark Lydic. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Hopevale Church 4873 N. Center Rd. Pastor Mike Garner will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
