Bob and I were contemporaries and very warm friends throughout our training at Memorial Hospital, our early efforts to establish surgical oncology as a legitimate field of endeavor and in his effective volunteer activities of our American Cancer Society. He was an outstanding contributor on all counts and our world was so fortunate to have this enthusiastic team-mate on the anti-cancer team.

You father will always be a giant to all he touched.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your father was a giant in his field. He was kind to us when I first met him in 1970 at your home and again when I was a resident at Merritt in 1980. Embrace those you love and are good to you moving forward.
