Robert Leo Sears, 79, of Kokomo, passed away at 2:42am, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 27, 1933, in Kokomo to Frank J. Sears and Minnie Blanche (Grant) Sears. On October 15, 1955 at St. Patrick Catholic Church he married Juanita J. (Owsley) Sears, and she survives. He had attended Northwestern High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass in 1993 after 41 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was Past President of the Eagles Lodge 255 of Kokomo, Past Vice Chairman of Indiana Zone 2, and most recently a District 7 Trustee. He was also a member of American Legion Post 6, and a 41 year member of the Metal Polishers, Buffers, Platers and Allied Workers International Union Local 24. Bob was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife Juanita J. Sears, of Kokomo; son, David Lee Sears, of Kokomo; son, Richard Allen and wife Gayle Sears, of Kokomo; grandchildren, Joshua David and wife Shannon Sears, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kristopher Allen Sears, of Williamsburg, Virginia; Allison Nicole and husband Jacob Gibson, of Kokomo; Nicholas Ryan Sears, of Kokomo; Holly Yvonne and husband Craig Little, of San Francisco, CA; two great grandchildren, Isabella and Beckham Sears. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Frances and Donald Sears. Services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main Street, with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team and the United States Army. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at the mortuary with a Eagles service taking place at 7:30pm.
