Robert Sibley Sefton

Obituary

Sefton, Robert Sibley age 83, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 9th after a long, gallant struggle with respiratory difficulties. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mabel and his brother, Fred Jr. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Kathleen and his 7 children, Peg Bjork (John), Steve (Claudia), Joe (Joan), Bob (Sylvia), Colleen Mulvehill (Mike), Kathleen Overby (Bob) and John. Also survived by his sister, Donna Helseth (Stan); grandchildren, Brian, Maureen, Molly, Kathryn, Jonas, Joe, Grace, Jack, Maddy, Billy, Kate and Liam; and 24 nieces and nephews. Bob grew up in South Minneapolis and Duluth and graduated from Washburn H.S. in 1944. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine and saw combat duty in the Korean War. Bob was a salesman his whole life working for several companies until he started his own business, Professional Beauty Supply Co. in 1965, which he later sold. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan and loved to watch and play golf. Bob and Kass spent 9 years living in Green Valley, AZ in the winters where both enjoyed lots of golf. His wry sense of humor, incessant teasing and sharp political commentary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him! Our family wishes to thank the terrific staff at the Minnesota Veterans Home and Hospice of the Twin Cities for their compassionate care. There will be a visitation at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 14 followed by a mass at 11 AM and lunch at Church of St. Patrick, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities, MI 04, PO Box 1414, Minneapolis, MN 55480 or www.ccspm.org. Cremation Society of Minnesota Edina 952-924-4100
