Robert Serfass, 74, of Wind Gap, died comfortably at home on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. He was surrounded by his beloved family.
Bob fought esophageal cancer for 4 and a half years. He lived courageously every day of the fight, never letting anything diminish his positive attitude or love for inappropriate jokes. As they say, this battle ended in a tie, the cancer died when he died. He died in the home he shared with the love of his life and his entire world, Alice, content and happy.
Bob had a smile that was contagious and he loved EVERYONE. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. He loved telling jokes and he was happiest making others smile and laugh.
Born on August 17, 1945, he was a proud Green Knight, having graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1963.
He graduated from Drake College in Florida and obtained his Certified Public Accountant license soon after returning to Pennsylvania to start his accounting career in Stroudsburg. His first partner was the late Gene Price, also a man who loved to laugh. He then joined forces with the late and beloved CPA, Mr. John Riley, of Riley & Associates Accounting of Stroudsburg.
Bob's parents the late, Hank and Esther Serfass lived in Wind Gap.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Serfass, son Troy, his wife Wendy and granddaughters, Sierra and Madison Serfass, Shelby and Elena Bentzoni. Brother, Kermit Serfass and his wife Carol, their children, Donnie, Denise and Ricky Serfass. He was also the beloved Uncle Bob to many nieces and nephews and had a wonderful extended family that he treasured including his late brother's in law, Uncle John Hahn and Uncle Wally Fenner, and sisters-in-law, Diane Hahn and Doris Fenner and Joseph and Joyce Comunale.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his much-loved dog, Suade and his cat, Rover. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin in Pike County.
