I knew Rob from when he worked for the Pacific Ocean Division of the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Shafter, Honolulu, Hawaii in the late 1970s. Just this morning (29 Oct 2023) I mentioned him to my wife in the context that ornithologists whistle to attract birds they are studying.
