SHEGOS, Robert Lewis “Bob” - Of Grand Blanc, age 86, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Friday, September 22, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc,
Father Joe Krupp officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Visitation 12-7pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 6pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 9am at church until the time of the Mass.
Bob was born November 19, 1936 in Flint to Stanley and Marie Shegos (Kapture).
Bob was a lifelong Flint resident, graduating from Sacred Heart in 1954 where he excelled in academics and was a three-sport athlete. He was a member of the first graduating class of The University of Michigan- Flint. He graduated from the Detroit College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1962. Bob worked in the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office before joining Neithercut & Neithercut and later became a partner in Neithercut, Klapp, Shegos, Dillard, Banas & Grossman. He then opened a practice with his daughter Lori, forming Shegos & Luckett. He was a member of the Genesee County Bar Association. Bob exemplified professionalism and respect throughout his 44 years of practice sharing his legal knowledge and experience with new attorneys. He enjoyed the practice of law and the bond he developed with his clients and associates. Paramount in Bob’s life was his family and his Catholic faith. Bob met the love of his life Cleva Barton in 1954 and they were married June 13, 1959. Together they raised five children and were blessed with 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bob never
missed an opportunity to show his support for them at sporting events, special activities, concerts and more. Bob was an ardent supporter of Michigan athletics. GO BLUE!
Bob was preceded in death by his father Stanley, mother Marie, and brother Raymond.
Bob is survived by his wife Cleva, daughters Lori Luckett, Vicki Kryska (Mark), Amy Aylmer
(Jim), sons Matt (Lynn) and Duke (Jill) and sister Connie Wilberding (Roger).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s or Mott Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Swan Hospice for their exceptional care.

Bob was one of the most gracious and honorable attorneys I´ve met. The years as one of his partners were some of my most enjoyable years practicing law. I thoroughly enjoyed our talks, often about baseball (he and I belonged to the "old catchers club") and hockey. It was always educational to kick around legal thoughts with him. And he was most proud of his family and spoke often of their accomplishments.He was a good guy who will be missed.
