Robert Cecil "Bob" Shepherd

What a great guy. His business is one of the reasons my wife and I will never move from this neighborhood. The business lives on through his sons.

Bob was just plain kind. He was savvy too. He built good relations with us at La Samaritaine Community when we began to renovate our buildings on Willy Street and then Luke House. When I became Director at Port Saint Vincent de Paul in 1985, he became a supporter in so many ways. Always, always was interested in what was happening at the Port, in our family, in the Community. Bob was a true neighborhood hero. When others were fleeing the near east side, he developed Ace into a community service. He never forgot a face or humorous story. Well in to his 80´s, he remembered our names and what Job we were doing. He was instrumental in supporting Common Wealth Development and the business association. He lives on in the smiles and helpfulness that are the Williamson St Ace especially his sons. May his memory be for a blessing.
