Not sure what to say?

Both Robert and Russel were good friends of mine. He was always friendly and a joy to be around him.Robert was especially kind to all. I do remember when he passed and how saddened I was to hear that. May he rest in peace.

Robert was my friend all through school and also at Virginia Tech. He was always kind and generous to everyone. As an example, he loaned me his car to elope to South Carolina with Becky Boxley who is still my dear wife after 56 years. For that,I am forever in his debt. We lost touch when we moved to Texas 50 years ago.

Robert was a wonderful man and had been a delightful classmate. I remember times when a bunch of us went skating at the rink on an icy night, and I fell down--he picked me up like a true gentleman and helped me get home. He was always just a sweet guy and a wonderful friend at Byrd. My deepest sympathy to Brenda and all the family. I hope wonderful memories help ease the pain of this loss. May his memory be eternal.

Robert was my staunch friend from first grade at Roland E. Cook Elementary School all the way through the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (Class of 1964). He was consistently humble, brave, honorable, loyal, and caring. He had many friends. We were all so fortunate to have known him.

Brenda, I'm so sorry to hear about Robert. You're in my prayers.

Robert (Junior in our family) was the first person I knew who went to college and served in the military. He inspired my brother to do the same. Robert and Brenda's life adventures in Europe inspired me to want to see the world too. Brenda and Roberts' love and devotion to one another is an example for all of us to follow. I am very proud to be Robert's cousin.
