Not sure what to say?

Prof. Shulman was an amazing person and terrific professor who had a very positive effect on the trajectory of my life. He encouraged me to explore ideas and write papers on books that would not fit within a normal curriculum. He was intelligent, kind, accessible, and generally a pleasure to be around. I was very saddened to hear of his passing, but his influence lives on through his family, friends and many students.

Prof. Shulman was one of my favorite professors. I am grateful to him for making me fall in love with literature even more, and for caring deeply about his students.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Bob's passing and offer belated condolences to Sandy and the Schulman family. I was privileged to meet Bob and Sandy only two years ago but am grateful for that brief time to enjoy his warmth, wit and devotion to his family, literature and social equality.

I always remember Bob with his winning smile, warmth and generous hospitality - whether via a superb cup of coffee or his famous oatmeal. Most of all, I remember how much he enjoyed his family - his wife Sandy and his daughter Natasha, daughter-in-law Sam and how proud he was of his granddaughter Talia. Also, how incredibly funny he and his son David were together at several family functions that I was privileged to attend as a welcome guest. Bob, you will be missed. Cheers, Vicki Murad
