I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Sievert when a mutual friend brought him to an art exhibit I had in Ceres Gallery around 2006. I appreciated his kind words; he was a writer for etaoin.com online website, and he had a deep appreciation /understanding for abstraction. Adieu, Robert.

Bob was my neighbor at 30 Canal Street in 1962. We remained friends
Ever since. He was honest and kind, and always looked out for me.
We used to go to the diner on Bay Street. We were always the toughest two in it. We will all miss him. He was a wonderful man. He lived every day that came. To Eva and Joseph, I am so sorry. Live you best life and remember your dads best moments. He loved you so much. It was my pleasure to know him. Georgia Smith

Bob Sievert was part of the Beat Generation who brought to society a fresh perspective on our culture, our values and our need for self-expression. He encouraged each of us to reach inward to discover our talents to achieve our best selves. He was a natural leader who asserted his vision and his will in any group, but who avoided the burden and responsibility of leadership - he was too private and inner directed to live the public life. I only knew Robert Sievert as a student
in his Plein Air classes.......I truly enjoyed his teaching style and felt badly when his
classes were held no longer as he wasn't well......; I will remember him and how enjoyable his classes were...a true loss to Staten Island painting scene!
