SINKLER, Robert Lewis "Bob" - Of Swartz Creek, age 67, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Robert was born in Craig Field, Alabama on August 30, 1944, and was a resident of Swartz Creek for 36 years. Bob graduated from Northern High School Class of 1962 and attended Baker College and ITT Institute and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, stationed aboard the USS Constellation. Bob enjoyed hunting, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob retired from Buick Motor Division in 2008, after 42 years of service and was the District Committeeman for UAW Local #599. Surviving are wife, Laurie; two children, John R. Sinkler of Pinedale, Wyoming, Alisa and husband Cory Brocklehurst of Fostoria, Michigan; four grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Sinkler, Sierra and Cooper Brocklehurst; brother, Donald and wife Pam Sinkler of Swartz Creek; two sisters, Connie and husband Dennis Novak of Swartz Creek, Joyce Sinkler of Owosso; brothers-in-law, Frank and wife Pam Laureto of Burton, and Dennis Baranowski of Gladwin; several nieces, nephews; his dog, Jackson and cat, Hershey. He was preceded in death by father, Ted Sinkler, mother, Thelma and Ralph Donley; mother-in-law, Adella Laureto; father-in-law, Frank Laureto; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry, Bruce and Bobby Laureto, Andrea and Linda Laureto.
