Not sure what to say?

I just saw that Mr. Slager has passed away. He was a great influence in my life. My father Clarence Scarbrough was also a history teacher at Elyria High. A great friend of our family and a great baseball coach to me when I was young. I will always remember his smile and good nature. A great role model for me as a young man. Certainly one of the most wonderful people that I have had the privilege of knowing.

Bob was a wonderful, giving man and always thought of how he could contribute to others and his community. Prayers are extended to his family. John, Bob and the painting crew not only painted houses, but played cards and had some good times doing both.

We were so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. We know what a great person, teacher and coach he was. And a painter! :) We are thinking of the family at this sad time.

What a great mentor, coach, and human being. I always looked forward to seeing him at my daughter, Bergen's, sporting events. He ALWAYS put a smile on my face. I am a better person for having known him as a teacher and a friend.

Bob was a treasure to the city of Elyria. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Great sense of humor and would volunteer his services for anything. He loved sports and would always support the Elyria athletes. Great coach and mentor. Proud to call him a friend. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Slager was always part of our family. He was a kind and thoughtful person who always had a joke up his sleeve! His welcoming heart made a person feel comfortable no matter the situation. He was deeply loved and will truly be missed. Mickey Mays
