Not sure what to say?

It has been a year since we lost you. August is doing so well in school and working through the challenge's of becoming a young woman, I know you are proud of her. Elerson is almost 6'3" and although I never watched you play football I know I am seeing a part of you every time he gets into his stance as a defensive end. He is finally getting the hang of the academic side of school also. I miss you daily and I hope that I am staying true to our joint efforts as parents. Love you and miss...

Bubba, I will miss you man! He was a good soul, spirit, and fun personality. I knew Robert as (bubba) from our college days at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am sad now.

Robert (Big Bob) was a kind and wonderful friend. He and I came to The Blake School the same year to teach and coach football. He was an incredible coach! As the years passed Bob became the preeminent weights coach in the area. He sent many kids to the next level. I too will never forget him rollerblading around the lakes! What a sight. He moved with such ease and grace. Wow, what a smile. I miss you Robert Vaya con dios amiga.

"Bobaroo" was one of the best people I knew. A phenomenal throwing coach and friend with the biggest heart. He was so patient and kind with me - always ready with a smile and guidance. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He will be greatly missed and will live on through all of the people he inspired.

Robert Smith was a former teammate of mine on the UW-La Crosse football team. We knew him as "Bubba". I had the pleasure of playing side by side with this gentle man who could be nasty and rise to the occasion when we had to be tough in the "pit". It was an honor to know him and be his friend.

Bob was a coach, teacher, and friend whose compassion went far beyond his event group and classroom. His joy, kindness, and passion were truly inspiring to me. My condolences and best to his family, you're in my thoughts.

My thoughts are with Robert's family, and I would echo Gerald's note about the world losing a "giant" of a man. "Bubba" was big physically, but he was HUGE in terms of his heart and the sweetness he brought to the world. Our college days at UW-LaCrosse were long ago but still cherished; his kind spirit left a permanent impression. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Bob was my PE teacher, Health teacher, and track coach (though not for my events). He was one of my favorites. He was an incredibly kind and decent person. I always looked for him around Harriet and Calhoun. I was very flattered that he always stopped to chat. I will miss him. I am very sorry for you loss.

My sincere condolences to Robert's family (especially his mother, children & other family members). We have loss a giant of a man. Robert was a special friend, from our days as freshman football players at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse to watching football & basketball on Sat. & Sun. afternoons, at his apt. & house in the twin cities during the 1980's. He was alway a great friend, a gentle & kind human being. I will miss you my friend. May you find peace and everlasting happiness...
