Robert Charles Smith

Robert Charles Smith (Bob) passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 7, 1935 to Charles and Martha (Fisher) Smith. Bob married the love of his life, Levora Ann, on February 20, 1957. Together, they welcomed one son, Robert Smith, Jr., and were blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Shelby and Alexa Smith. Bob graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in 1954 and entered the U. S. Air Force in July, 1954. He was Regional Manager at Service America and retired after 35 years of service. Bob was Past Commander, Post 183 American Legion; Voiture #946 40et8; Indian Guides Leader; baseball manager; and was a ranger at Waverly and Groesbeck golf courses. In addition to spending time with family, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating. Bob will always be loved and respected by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Levora Ann (Tomlinson) Smith; son, Robert (Monique) Smith, Jr.; and granddaughters, Shelby (Robert Arnold) Smith and Alexa Smith. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
