Robert and I were childhood friends. We went to high school, U of A and I think junior high together (Mansfield). His supervisor for his MFA was Jim Davis, an artist that I know very well and now collect. Having Jim as a supervisor was challenging for Robert. In the end he did well and received high marks. Abut ten years ago Robert spent time with me here in Arizona. He, Basil Diamos (another childhood friend) and I went golfing together and had a wonderful time. Robert was a terrific...

My sincere condolences to Gesine and the rest of Robert's family. I first met Bob when we were Art Majors at the U of A in the early 1970s. His talent and intelligence were apparent to me, and everyone else that knew him. We reconnected as fellow artists at the Davis Dominguez Gallery, and it was in these more recent times that I came to know Robert in more depth.
